UGC Declares 20 Universities as "Fake",

versity Grants Commission (UGC) recently released a list of 20 universities, across the country that are declared "fake". These institutions lack the authority to grant academic degrees, as per the UGC Act. The list reveals that Delhi has the highest number of such institutions.

Warning against Invalid Degrees

In recent revelations, the UGC has declared a warning to all students about the potential consequences of obtaining a degree from these universities.

UGC secretary Manish Joshi stated, "Degrees awarded by such universities shall neither be recognized nor valid for higher education or employment purpose. These universities are not empowered to confer any degree."

UGC has advised all the students to verify the recognition status of the universities before enrolling themselves to avoid distress and waste of resources.
